There are many historic places found in Europe. You can find these places almost in every town in Europe. Take a look at the vintage architecture of houses and buildings. Some times these are great indication that there are historic places available to view. Many of the small towns have preserved the look and feel of some of the older buildings. In fact, you will still be able to visit many hotels and buildings that have been influenced by such architecture.

The Elo all-time football ranking system has come to the conclusion based on decades of data that the greatest streak of sustained football mastery was achieved by the players of Hungary back in the 1950s. This is a historic site that you can visit. The Hungary team won the Olympic title in 1952 and then were denied the 1954 World Cup by a West German team that is now widely believed to have been doping when they shocked the world with their upset victory.
Hungary also beat England 6-3 in the mythic Match of the Century game in 1953 in Wembley. Of course England claimed that their loss was a fluke, that Hungary had merely gotten lucky. That claim was promptly refuted when the Hungary team won over England again 7-1 in Nep Stadium, Budapeset in 1954. Football in Hungary would never be the same.

The Civil War Trails Program in West Virginia works to increase tourism and public knowledge about the civil war by providing trail markers and driving brochures to the public. Similar programs have worked well in surrounding states, and West Virginia travel and tourism officials see it as an opportunity to build Civil War tourism infrastructure in the state to attract more tourist dollars.
The state has many historic sites, including the first land battle of the war and Stonewall Jackson's birthplace. The state Division of Tourism is anticipating a surge in Civil War related tourism during the 150th anniversary. Currently there are 74 marked Civil War Historical sites in the state, such as Harpers Ferry, Wheeling Hospital and Rich Mountain Battlefield, and another 76 sites are awaiting signs. Five of these sites are in Marion County, including the homes of Waitman T. Willey and Francis Pierpont, considered to be the Father of West Virginia.
